GIOVANNI

Non che alcuno abbia visto il PADRE, ma solo colui che viene da DIO ha visto il PADRE.

In verità, in verità vi dico:

chi crede ha la vita eterna.

Io sono il pane della vita.

I vostri padri hanno mangiato la manna nel

deserto e sono morti;

questo è il pane che discende dal cielo,

perché chi ne mangia non muoia.

Io sono il pane vivo, disceso dal cielo.

Se uno mangia di questo pane

vivrà in eterno e il pane che io darò è

la mia carne per la vita del mondo >> .

Allora i Giudei si misero a discutere tra di loro: << Come può costui darci

la sua carne da mangiare? >> .

GESU' disse:

<< In verità, in verità vi dico:

se non mangiate la carne del FIGLIO dell'uomo

e non bevete il suo sangue,

non avrete in voi la vita.

Chi mangia la mia carne

e beve il mio sangue ha la vita eterna

e io lo risusciterò nell'ultimo giorno.

Perché la mia carne è vero cibo

e il mio sangue vera bevanda.

Chi mangia la mia carne e beve il mio sangue

dimora in me ed io in lui.

Come il PADRE, che ha la vita, ha mandato me e io vivo per il PADRE,

così anche colui che mangia di me vivrà per me.

Questo è il pane disceso dal cielo, non come quello che mangiarono i padri vostri e morirono. Chi mangia questo pane vivrà in eterno >> .

Queste cose disse GESU',

insegnando nella sinagoga a Cafarnao.

46 Non quia Patrem vidit quisquam, nisi is

qui est a Deo, hic vidit Patrem.

47 Amen, amen dico vobis:

Qui credit, habet vitam aeternam.

48 Ego sum panis vitae.

49 Patres vestri manducaverunt in

deserto manna et mortui sunt.

50 Hic est panis de caelo descendens,

ut, si quis ex ipso manducaverit, non moriatur.

51 Ego sum panis vivus, qui de caelo descendi. Si quis manducaverit ex hoc pane,

vivet in aeternum; panis autem, quem ego dabo,

caro mea est pro mundi vita ".

52 Litigabant ergo Iudaei ad invicem

dicentes: " Quomodo potest hic nobis

carnem suam dare ad manducandum? ".

53 Dixit ergo eis Iesus: "

Amen, amen dico vobis:

Nisi manducaveritis carnem Filii hominis

et biberitis eius sanguinem,

non habetis vitam in vobis metipsis.

54 Qui manducat meam carnem

et bibit meum sanguinem, habet vitam aeternam;

et ego resuscitabo eum in novissimo die.

55 Caro enim mea verus est cibus,

et sanguis meus verus est potus.

56 Qui manducat meam carnem et bibit

meum sanguinem, in me manet, et ego in illo.

57 Sicut misit me vivens Pater, et ego vivo

propter Patrem;

et, qui manducat me, et ipse vivet propter me.

58 Hic est panis, qui de caelo descendit, non

sicut manducaverunt patres et mortui sunt;

qui manducat hunc panem, vivet in aeternum ".

59 Haec dixit in synagoga docens

in Capharnaum.

46 Not that anyone has seen the Father except the one who is from God; he has seen the Father.

47 Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life.

48 I am the bread of life.

49 Your ancestors ate the manna in the desert, but they died;

50 this is the bread that comes down from heaven so that one may eat it and not die.

51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; whoever eats this bread will live forever; and the bread that I will give is my flesh for the life of the world."

52 The Jews quarreled among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us (his) flesh to eat?"

53 Jesus said to them, "Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.

54 Whoever eats 19 my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.

55 For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink.

56 Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.

57 Just as the living Father sent me and I have life because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on me will have life because of me.

58 This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your ancestors who ate and still died, whoever eats this bread will live forever."

59 These things he said while teaching in the synagogue in Capernaum.
